Down the River - the great scenic ride!

from below hoover dam (lake mead- boulder city, nevada) to near laughlin nevada, is a great area I have rode many times, nevada on your river right as you go down river and arizona to the left side, to me the absolute most beautiful in the southwest for rivers. canyons, tall cliffs, fast moving water to slow moving water, dumping into lake mohave, its 64 miles from dam to dam, hoover dam to davis dam.. there is 3 marinas on the run, willow beach * my favorite spot, cottonwood cove and katherines landing, a massive marina, very busy in the summer and popular, in river marina terms...

the landscape is breath taking, especially the first 30 miles from below hoover dam, the ride is smooth, the water is cold as heck for the first few dozen miles, even with air temps at 120 the water is 52 degrees, or cooler... i did jump in, wow, that will suck the air out of ya...lol..

we have seen coyotes, many big horn sheep, dozens at a time, hawks, bald eagles, cranes, ducks, burrows, lizards, wild horses and of course plenty of fish to name a few things.. This is a great down to the end and back ride during summer, stopping at katherines landing for lunch, or better yet, do a lunch with a million dollar view, pack one in a cooler and stop in the canyons to eat. take your time, stay around 20-30 miles an hour and enjoy, stop a lot and explore, up above willow beach, az to hoover dam, after memorial day and before labor day, no sunday or mondays you can ride up to hoover dams base. you will also find a few natural hot springs to explore, they run around 100 degress. lots of canyons and things to enjoy. check out the pictures below. i have 50 but will only post a few! thanks for listening!
