    RXP-X Washers

I have a stock RXPX with about 50 hours on it. Does the X have the same SC washer problems with the old RXPs? Do you recommend changing the washers? I just want to make it as reliable as possible

No the washers are metal vs. ceramic in older models.
Most of us got rid of the ceramics a long time ago. More on that here:

That is debatable, I think only a few of the OEM washers have been failing,
but you could go with Riva washers as a substitute. I think the Rivas have been very dependable over the years, I have Rivas in fact. Jerry can hook you up with those in the GH store, more on that here:

thanks a lot, I guess I will put ceramic bearings and check the washers (maybe go for riva) and prey that something wont go wrong when I am in the ocean 10 miles away from shore

They have been greatly improved, and very reliable overall, but the Sea-Doo superchargers remain less than bullet proof. Also, on the X models I think some have had flooding problems due to the pump cone shaft-walking on one of the third party props. (dangerous when you are offshore). Sorry I am going from memory I can't remember exact details or mods involved.

My best advice is to always carry an IPRB on your person in the ocean and make sure you keep your Sea-Doo under an extended warranty.

And, don't forget, you have to have those X SC parts replaced every 100 hrs or your OEM warranty can be VOIDED by Sea-Doo.

It seems like I read somewhere on the board that the new ('09) skis had to have their SCs inspected by a dealer and possibly rebuilt at the 100 hour mark. Otherwise, the ski's warranty goes bye-bye. Maybe shibby will chime in... Ron

BRP now recommends that all Superchargers be rebuilt every 100 hours. This started in 08. The 08 and up skis will give a "maint" reminder at the 100 hour mark.
