    Cannot Remove Prop!

Last nite I tried for 2 hours to get the prop off (clockwise) using heat and 2 12" crecent wrenches. No Joy. This morning I took off to get a 50lb vise and mounted it to the bench. Still no joy. damn damn damn damn!

    Any ideas?

"Counter clockwise" they are left hand threads. Think of how the prop works and imagine it as self tightening.

It's self tightened all right. tried both directions and still nothing. You'd think a 300# guy pulling on it, it would come loose!

Looking at the prop holding the splined end of the shaft nearest you clockwise?
This is what the service manual indicates, wouldn't be the first time that was wrong...

    Got it, finally!
Placed prop in vise. USed a 3/4 drive ratchet on the holder with a 1 1/8 socket counterclockwise. piece of pie. Where's my beer!

    Just did mine

I just did my GPR 2 days ago. I used a vise & a 1 & 1/16 wrench, I hooked a second wrench into the first to get more leverage. Worked great. Sounds like you are turning it the correct direction.

so the way that we would turn the wrench to tighten other bolts would be the way that we would turn the prop to loosen it?

I use a vice, shaft holder and a 24 inch crescent wrench... they come off nice and easy!
