    Welcome B-more.

I'd consider that low for a first time user, or somebody with a short riding season.

I'd consider it high, if somebody trashed the crap out of it, or never kept it up.

Those are low hours if the craft is in excellent condition and good working order.

    * Do a compression check to give you a baseline on the condition of the motor

    * Invest in a good Compression tester

    * Buy a good aftermarket Digital Tachometer

    * Always perform your peventative maintenance

don't forget to check for the 2003 yamaha pump recall kit!!!!!! All front line production GPR's were recalled in 2003 due to the pumps blowing and sinking boats.

Its good you are able to fix things yourself. It saves alot of money vs. going to the dealer. and you will know your ski better

Being mechanically inclined and using this Forum as a tool, you should be able to tackle anything that comes your way.

Yes I am fortunant to be very mechanically inclined and have found through experiance that all bolt on parts will bolt on as long as you have a complete machine shop.......
