    Lubricating supercharger

Just reading service manual and doing 10hr service, and it says to lubricate supercharger...... Undo a little bolt and tip in engine oil while turning impeller.... but it does not specify how much?? (and talks about it with supercharger out of the ski) Surely it wouldnt have to come out to do this......Has anyone done this? and did you reuse the little gasket or have to get a new one.

Rest of service was easy.. still never understand why yamaha dont say to change oil filter.. but i did anyway..

This was all discussed months ago, and the latest is that it needs no extra lubrication, unless it's taken out and dismantled and the oil is lost.
I contacted my dealer and was assured by them Yamaha had given them instructions NOT to touch it------the oil in there is for start up only on the supercharger.
The oil in there it seems is normal 4 stroke engine oil.

Good thinking on the filter change at 10 hours-----mine was changed also. May I ask what it cost you please-----PM me if you prefer.

Oil filters are cheap. New oil = new filter every time. And the SHO's is so easy to get too, especially without stock airbox.

Absolutely-----why would anyone tip fresh oil into any engine without changing the filter.

take the s/c hose of and tip some sugar soap in it which will clean the charger and give more 75 more RPM then do it back up and flatten it

I never could understand that either, it's like taking a shower and then putting your dirty underwear back on
