It uses the BRP part #293550032 jet pump bearing grease.

You only need to change the grease if you find water when you remove the pump cone. Then a rebuild is in order... Ron

i think that i am gonna have to rebuild it. Lots of noise coming from the pump i believe. I got the pump off yesterday and gonna take it to work tommorrow to pull the cone off. Hopefully the whole pump isnt bad

the props are really noisey out of the water which is normal but if its noisey in the water you have problems with the pup out the prop should spin smoothly with a little resistance any roughness you need to replace the bearing/seals.

Just out of curiousity: what happens when a pump 'goes bad'? I saw that if you find water in your pump cone, the pump needs rebuilt.

    What does a rebuild entail?
Why does a rebuild need to occur?
How common are the needs for rebuild?

Thanks in advance for the education!

I completely rebuild my pump every 75hrs. Bearing, seals, grease...etc.

It's not a bad idea to pull the cone off every now and then to make sure you don't have any water in there, and check your bearing end play. I had water in my pump recently and due to that my pump grease was completely black

I always add oil in the pump. Just before you put the cone on and the pump housing is on the bench fill it up with either gear oil or just regular motor oil. Give the impeller a couple spins to get the air bubbles out. I really dont know why Seadoo doesn't have a little hole in the cone like on the old XP's to fill it up. Can pack it as much as you like with grease but its all just gonna go into the cone and not even touch the bearings. Had many issues with the my old Ultra blowing pump bearings and ruining impellers not to add it. At 125 hrs now and the pump bearings feel as good as new.
