Anybody got any tricks for removing a broken pump bolt
So one of the four bolts that holds the pump in my MSX broke as I was removing it (stick stuck in the pump).....
It's one of the 4 main ones that holds the whole pump assembly together (top right if standing at the rear of the ski looking towards the front)....
They were all giving me a hard time coming out but the top right one just sheared in half. I've got about 1/2" sticking out of the pump shoe....
I was going to try a extractor but looking for any pointers if you've experienced this. I'd like to avoid pulling the pump shoe if at all possible...

Can you get the tip of a small butane torch on the housing to see if some heat will help?
Half inch is pretty good. If the heat works, maybe just a pair of vise-grips will do it.

Kevin had one break while we were at the lake.
Removal tools, stud removers, lubricants, heat etc., nothing worked.
We spent hours on this thing, bottom line, remove the assembly and the repair is easy.
We threw another unit in and 20 minutes later it was ready for action.
I guess my point is, replace it, go ride and take care of the broken bolt when time permits.

We even had a larger torch, that bitch is still sitting in Kevin's garage somewhere...probably lost forever...

I have a pump housing I can donate for the cause.

So it's not actually the pump shoe that has to come out?
It's just the housing that's held in place with lots of silicone and those 4 bolts on the inside correct?
