No special tools needed, it is a replacement for the factory regulator. Be careful not to break the vent tube off.

Just remove the vent hose from the tank before you start on the regulator. Also a small amount of grease/lube etc on the O rings will ease the installation of the regulator.

The vent tube is plastic(flimsy), several of us have broken them while changing the regulators out. If it is broken the vent hose will be laying in the hull instead of attached to the top of the fuel tank.

cody, The vent tube will not effect the way your ski runs unless it i plugged up. Breaking the vent tube off of the tank will allow the fumes to be vented to the inside of the hull instead of outside the hull and could also allow fuel leakage when the tank is full. I dont think this is your problem. Try running your ski in smooth water with the gas cap off to see if you have a venting problem.
