    Which skat trak for X

    hey guys
    once again i need some helpful answers

    heres the setup

    ET-X 137 S/C, 60lb injectors, 8600 ecu, 84mm nozzle, 15/22r. im pushing out 14psi of boost and running a top speed of 78mph on a humid day with full take.

    i know im in the 80mph but i ride on the bay so i will hardly ever use the top speed. i need acceleration. and i wish turbo was the answer but not yet. maybe one day.lol

    question is which skat trak should i try?? 14/19, 14/18 (les cooke's one) or a 15/20. what are the closed course guys running?

    Hi, i have one RXP-X with turbo system at 15Psi running with 14/19 skat and 215 nozzle,top RPM 8.750 and 123Km/h with a very good acceleration and almost nothing of cavitation..

    so then if only want a top rev at 8600 maybe go for the 15/20??

    Yes maybe, but depends for what are you looking for. With 14/19 you have a better holeshot, I have installed other skat 15/20 in other RXP (NO X) with turbo and my customer are running at 8.650RPM with 18Psi. and Riva ECU.

    I think you have to try both impellers if you can and choose that you like more.

    I was running a 14/18 Skat-Trak 3-Blade at 8580 on my X. It ran about 69-70mph in race trim. I had heard that with a 3-Blade there is a flat spot in the acceleration and the X liked the 4-blade better. So I put in my stock x impeller and it's running 72-73mph in race trim.

    I also compared the 3-blade and the stock x impeller in a short distance run(two tenths of a mile) and the 3-blade hit about 70 and the stock x impeller hit 71.5. RPMs at the time were 8580 for the 3-blade and 8200 for the stock x impeller.

    I think 14/18 is too smaller, maybe 14/19 with cone spacer and reduccion nozzle. But itīs only that i think. I didnīt test never 14/18.

    For me personally i like more Solas 4 blade, in our racing boats we get a very good compromise between top end speed and aceleration without cavitation.

    15/20 from Solas is one of the best impellers for me for close course.

    For my APBA Limited Class setup that was the pitch impeller Les Cooke suggested I get since I'm using a lot of his products on my X.

    Donīt get me wrong, i know Les Cook know a lot about performaces....

    Only i,m suggestin other options. From my experience i think you need around 75Mph for close course but you need too get this speed instantly. Well i know itīs no easy, if this was easy everybody do it without problems.

    Anyway i think each team or mechanical have his own way to do a good setup with differents options.

    For me at the moment ( i donīt know if in a future i will change) i like too much more 4 blade impellers for 4 Tec Rotax engines.
