PWC DEPTHFINDER INSTALL PICS
I bought a hawk-eye depth finder that is made for pwcs. Here are the pics that i took.
I made an on/off switch for this device so that it could be run directly to the battery rather than me cutting up some other wires to find hot ones that will turn it on and off automatically.
While i was at it - i put the tach right next to it with the on/off switch inbeween the two so that they will be visable at any riding position.
Brain For the Depth Finder:
Ran the wiring down the left side of the boat (red cable cover)
Excess wiring from the senor to the brian (came with a 50ft cord)
The Main Sensor sits flat on the hull and reads through both layers to the bottom of where ever you ride. Comes with depth alarms that you can set to your preference. I siliconed it to the bottom after sanding smooth to get through all of the spray-on bed liner.

hey, thats a nice install. I like how that OEM mounting plate came in handy to mount the tach and depth finder. Is that regular clear silicone adhering the depth finder black box thing to the hull?
Interesting...I may do this also....
Nice job John

yea just home depot cheap stuff (i think its actually aquarium silicone).
some people don't like the idea of this i am sure, but for me its a must because of some of the places that i go and also the new places that i like to scout out----this way i can crawl up into areas and keep my eye on the depth so that i can come back and just fly through the narrow places.
I think it's a must - especailly if you have a bad habit of running ground's (like me). This one is good and will read all the way to 99feet.

got it from www.heartlandgps.com for 97 bucks including shipping. There are others that sell it but want 120 bucks plus shipping, i would do a google search under "PWC Depthfinders" - that is how i came across this place.
There might be another one cheaper that i may have missed.

had to move the eye - sensor that reads through the hull. It did not want to read where it was because a chime was under it (on the bottom side of the hull), so i moved it farther to the side (still behind the battery box, but "up the hill" a bit).
