Has anyone ever used their fire extinguisher?

I am in a debate with one of my neighbors about the fire extinguishers on a jetski..I told him I've never seen anyone ever use on in 15 years on jetskis, racing or rec riding, I've never had to use one nor have I seen used. Except at a race in Rochester when 2 riders got into a "fire" fight with their extinguishers..what say your experience? Anyone?

The local Paw Paw keeps wanting me to show them my FI. I've considered strapping it on the hood during the summer to save myself time getting it out.

Never seen anybody use one and don't really see any need for one, except for the water police.

Mike here at the plant we have to change them out periodically, the machines that they are mounted on bounce so much while driving on hard roads, they actually pack the dry powder ,to the extent where it cant be released when the pin is pulled or released, they really should be replaced after a couple of years, not that you would want to get back ON!! the ski while it is burning, and try and put it out, but i would be dumb enough to do it................

I for one am a firm believer in an extinguisher. I have put fires out in one of my boats (sea poo poo) and some poor sap one day at the boat ramp. I work in an enviroment where your world can go "up in flames" quick and I would rather be safe than sorry!!!

I think its good to have one arround.
I bought a 2 pack last time I have the extra one in my garage(room).
To make one a necesity on a waveruner is a way to make money.
Its another excuse to stop you.
If you go by at 45mph the watercops probly gona just check your #s if you go by at 85mph probly getting stopped because he thinks you should slow down not for the inspection he is going to give you but because he thinks your going to fast.
    Its all about $$$$$$$$
Its just another reason to stop you thats all.
