Having seen Malte lecture many a poster on these engines(since Franky Zapata runes a modified version) it is a unique block, has lightened and strengthened rotating assembly(crank, rods, and pistons) lighter valves and retainers, no strator(no batterey charging) and a higher compression ration(11.5:1). This is strictly a racing engine it is designed and built to rev fast.

the new 350 HP ROTAX RACING engine has 9.5:1 static compression, and the boost is 0.98 bar ( 14.5 psi ) at 9000 RPM
in a stock RXP hull the engine will make 84-85 mph with a 81 mm nozzle, the accelleration is brutal, and far better then any forum builds that run 84-85 mpH topspeed.(the budget is different , so thats normal ) btw the engine has still the full Magneto.

you can buy all internals of this engine, and the setup is no top secret

you can make up to 375 real HP @9300 on that engine if you change to a bigger SC, and some other parts.

Zapata has the FACTORY RACING engine, thats a different story, there is only 3 engine like that, and you can not buy them. not even for 100k.

the picture on PPG web is very old, and from the 1st generation of ROTAX RACING engine (300 HP)the 2nd generation had 325 HP, and the latest generation has 350 HP

    Race gas?

With 9.5:1 and 14+ lbs boost, I imagine they have to run race gas tho?? Fine for a race boat, but expensive for a rec rider.

I doubt any rec rider would buy that motor anyways... to much $$$ and lots of upkeep.
