New Gasket Needed? GP1300R exhaust removal

I have the stinger pipe out and will be removing the U shaped part of the exhaust under the handle bars. Can I reuse that one gasket that connects to the header side of the exhaust?

you can reuse the gasket IF the black covering on the gasket is in good condition and no silver is showing, although a new one is recommended every time.....

I re-used my exhaust gaskets and used copper gasket spray to seal it all back up. Just a hint where gloves where you spray it took me 15 minutes to get the gasket spray off my hands.

what hydro said!. I've re-used them several times. Wipe it over and visually inspect.

I disagree. I ALWAYS use new gaskets. Why take the chance??
That exhaust gasket is less than $25 on boats.net.
Bottome line - if that gasket leaks, your mostly likely seizing the engine

I was told by the best to smear a little bit of waterproof grease on the gaskets and reuse them as long as the coating is in good shape. I've used this advise on every ski gasket I've worked with and NEVER had a gasket leak.

I'll let you guys guess who I'm talking about...
