RXT-X Prop Choice
My Rxt-X with 25 hours does 69.8 with just the wings cut off stock grate and holes plugged.
This is at 8,160 RPM,s.
1. What is the size of the stock prop?
2. Is there a prop that would get me 2 MPH and maybe 100 RPM,s less to 8,060?
3. Is it better to run 8,060 on the X Boat or is 8,160 OK.
4. Looking for 2 MPH at Minimum Cost.
$$$ is Tight.

If you are looking for 2 mph at minimum cost, don't pm Jaws. If you want the best, then PM him... Ron

1. Progressive Pitch 13-17 over 145 degrees
Progressive Pitch 23 degrees over the last 15 degree
2. Yes, and Yes.
3. 8160 is getting close too the rev limiter which is 8200.
4. Have your stock prop repitched to 13/23.5, or 13/24, would be the cheapest. Props run around $300. To have your stock prop repitched is much cheaper.
You could also try and R&D intake grate. If you don't like it, they have a 30 day money back guarantee. I think if you just change the intake grate, you'll gain 2mph. Plus, if you can find someone to rebend your stock prop, even better.
Change the grate first....then see what your rpm and mph is. If its not what you need, send it back. Also, see if you can find someone to bend your stock prop, or learn to do it yourself.

Sarge, I'd go with the R&D grate cause if you start cutting on your factory grate and screw it up where will you be then. This way you can put your boat back to stock if need be. It's supposed to be a 2 plus mph grate. Then start looking at changing the air intake tract for rpm's and then the prop. Just my .02.

My bad! Can't read in my old age. Time to start bending metal I guess.

Thanks for the help. Yes I figure if a stock RXT-X was around 67.7 (as in the test) then I did a good job cutting and grinding the grate to pick up 2.1 to get to 69.8.
Does Dave at Impros do these props as I have heard good things about him.
How Much does a Jawz mod cost $$.
