How do you disconect clocks for CF hood?

A friend of mine has got hold of carbon fibre hood for his efi gpr, and wantd to know about doing away with the clocks/instruments.
Can you just diconect all the wires?
Will it start and run then?
Or do you have to short some conections out, and if you do, which ones?
Not worried about losing warning beepers etc.

you could leave the gauges connected and simply store them up inside under the hood. Or maybe even mount them somewhere under the seat. this would keep the alarms (good idea) and also give you access to the gas gauge (good idea)

I had a carbon fiber hood and I believe I had it disconnected and it still ran. But that was a few years back and I can't really remember what I did. I must have cause I never had a gauge for my ski.
