#16 cylinder head bolt snapped Help please

I am looking for advice on fixing this problem. Was torquing all bolts as stated in manual. 16ft lbs and then 25 ft lbs. All went well except for #16 snapping off. I went very slow with no sign of a problem and snap. Felt like a weak bolt. I am assuming to pull the head and see if I can get it out easily. I have not tried anything yet as I am reinforcing my pump tunnel right now.

Should I leave the head on and try an easy out, or take the head off and tape everything off and try the easy out. I am sure this has happened to many before. Looking for your ideas and techniques you have learned.

    Thanks in advance.

    This sucks!

Pull the head and see if there is enough of the bolt sticking up to grab with vice grips.

No luck, I pulled the head and the snapped bolt sticks out maybe 30-40 thousanths with no room to grap by vice grips. Please let me know what I should do. I'm not attempting to pull this out until I get the advice of GH.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I would try and have someone weld a bolt on top of there and then back the rest out.

It looks like you have blue loctite on what little thread I can see. I never use loctite on cylinder head bolts. I use thread sealant or antisieze. the only think I use loctite on is exhaust bolts, red.....And the crank case bolts I use loctite. But anything head, pump, related, I use antisieze or thread sealant.
Loctite clogs up if you don't clean the threads out and eventually, the threads in the cylinder will get knurled. Also bolts can stretch too and snap from the tension.

    It's Out!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I ended up using an easy out. I took my time, taped everything off, and did it without any problems.

The head has never been taken off before. Whatever locktight was used was put on by the factory.

The bolt was not stuck at all, it felt like it started to stretch and then it snapped when I was torquing all the head bolts
