Ski M.D. 1,2,3 at NZ River drags

This weekend saw the running of the annual Hamilton Bridge to Bridge race on the Waikato River. The race is actually a power boat sprint which has boats leave the start line two by two with thirty seconds between pairs. The skis run thirty seconds after the last boats and run all together.
Conditions were calm and cool for the race which sees skis run down the river about 12 miles and then regroup for the return run with times taken for both legs to get a winner.
Last Years winner was quietly confident of another win this year and this was to be the case. Forum member RXP244 smashed the competition and infact past the last of the race boats which was an added bonus. Second over the line was Tony Greene on a 08 RXP freshly prepared for this race and third went to Baden Gray on his 78 mph RXT.
The crowd of onlookers were very interested to see the front skis crossing the line in excess of 85 mph.
With the first three Sea Doo's either built or supported by Ski M.D. it was a good day for our shop with the fourth place going to a Kawasaki 250.

While I love to hear all the other shops rumouring how fast thier ski's are, it is always great satisfaction when the green flag drops to see whos ski's at the podium end of the competition and to dispell any rumours that there is anything faster out there.
Great effort to everyone who competed and roll on next year so we can do it all again.

    Photos will be posted soon.

    Bridge to Bridge

    Thanks Kevin and Ski MD

Great to have the support of the most experienced Seadoo specialist in the Country!

Just a tadd under 86 on the GPS! Not bad for SC'D boat. It's a pity the only turboed boat there had a few problems and we couldn't make more of race of it.

Well done to Tony and Baden for giving it a good crack, it was closer than I thought it might be. I think I might have to step up the game next year!

Kevin do ya think we can get the old girl to 90 with SC?

    Cheers Mark

    Bridge to Bridge

You always hear about the "fast" ski's out there but nobody ever gets to see them in the flesh, "So to Speak". This is a chance to have a 12 mile down and 12 mile back, drag race on a River thats flows through a town past houses and farmland that is normally mostly closed to PWC. It winds and twists and sometimes is as narrow as 50 yards and as wide as 150 yards. Always pretty fast. Wide open throttle, 80+ mph for about 9-10 minutes each way. Too Cool! Big test for hot-rod ski's.
