    Intercooler ideas

What are the limits or a 215 stock internal ic?
Benefits of ext ic? I need facts...
According ho me is dangerous for a big heavy box full off water with no stock an safe bracket and for 1,5 meter or pipe loosing boost.
And the stock ic is safe up to 300hp

I tend to agree with you, which is why my "normal use" ski has the stock intercooler. The stock intercooler record was ~77 mph, but someone just went 78+ with it. Either way, the external intercooler is good for 2 mph consistently.

Results not typical. Most people with similar combo's go 73-76 mph.

I have had some rubbing issues with the pipes and hull but nothing serious. And I beat the piss out of my ski pounding through the ocean!!!

i am running stage 3 with a bkit minus the intercooler because i was told from less cooke that put in a aftermarket intercooler will rob me off my bottom end , what do u guys think, have u lost any bottom end or had some issues with hole shot , ive actually got a pirhana cooler sitting in my garage which is just sitting there catching dust .

I find that hard to believe, but I can't really argue with Les. I saw the total opposite. Throw in the Piranha IC and find out for yourself.

You are giving up a large amount of power... bottom to top!

Also, you run high risk of detonation because that stock intercooler isn't doing a very good job of cooling the extremely hot air charge from that B kit.

I would have to agree. Last weekend with my 2rude, it is amazing how hot the pipe from sc to ic gets. you can not even touch it.
But my pipe from ic to tb you can grab as feels neither hot nor cold.

I have heard of some really hot degrees coming off our high boost scs and i can assure you my 2rude makes plenty of heat.
NOt that it is a good thing (heat) but the heat comes with the boost.

would be interesting to know the exact temp going into and leaving intercooler.

Output temp leaving the SC can be as high as 275 degrees depending on the supercharger and ambient temps. I have measured intake air temps in the 90 degree range after the intercooler does it's job.

Les Cooke is only running a stock IC on low budget setups for stock ECU !!! like ( B-Kit and fuelregulator, Air Intake )

most RACING ECUs are mapped for lower Intake themperature, and will run like sh.. with the stock IC.

I dont agggree with a lot of post, but a external IC is in allmost every case 2 mph more topend. I have tested even with watercooled 4000 USD SC, that the stock IC is way to restriktiv
