If you bought them new, how long did they last before you now need a new battery, if you bought them used then oh well thats the risk you take.
But you should have had many years out of each one, if you didnt that does suck

I have the same EXACT problem. I have an ipod shuffle and nano and both batteries are dead... they were bought new about 2 years ago

Apple =cool gadgets but you have to upgrade to the next model yearly. It's planned that way. Think of all the people that got the first version of iPhone. a few months later thy lower the price a year later they come out with the G3 or whatever version..
I have a older 30 gig zune. love it. It's bulky and old but it still works.

The way apple products work is you NEED to have the warranty. Battery issues are usually the only problems. If you have the warranty they will just give you a new one. If not your stuck forking over the cash or buying a replacement online and installing it your self.
