    Outerwears

    Hey guys!
The ski I just bought has the R&D race plenum flame arrestor on it. The problem is I ride in the rough ocean most of the time.
Has anybody used that F/A in the ocean and had a water ingestion problem? Has anybody tried outerwears on their aftermarket F/As? Do the water socks kill airflow and performance?
    TIA

    Eric

Make sure you put those outerwears on before you go out in the ocean. Water injestion will KILL your engine. They will help keep water out of your F/A's. The RPM's you will loose are nothing compared to the damage and repair bill.

Do not ride without them. Period.

You will not lose more than 20-30 rpm's at the most when using them..they are worth every penny of investment in saving you from water ingestion imo. Use them with confidence, they work.

I highly recomment the splash guard riva sells for the '03 & up 1300's for anybody using the riva race filter or R & D filter.
Without the splash guard, water can come up behind the flame arrestor under the engine and cause injestion by getting between the arrester & end of the watersock
