    1996 SLX overhaul

What's up everybody, I own a 1996 SLX which I am going to start overhauling(engine and hull) this winter. I would like the project to include a new rub rail that goes along the outside of the ski. My problem is I don't liek the purple color that the current scheme has. Does anyone know what hull styles are the same as far as year/models go. I am considering a custom paint job so I would like a black or red one. I think the 1994 SL had a black or red rub rail but not too sure. If anyone could help me with this that would be great. Thanks.

P.S. I am looking at Babbits and SBT for parts. Are these the best websites to find parts, or is there something else out there.

    Welcome to the Hulk Chris.

I don't know for sure if the 96 is the same as the 92-95 hull. But you will not find any new rub rails available, unless they pop up on Ebay.

Try to avoid the SBT parts if you can. They don't have the best rep according to most guys on here.

You can get new parts from partsland.com, watcon.com, as well as Babbits.

A good guy to get used parts from is John Zigler. He's a member on here with an excellent reputation.

Of course you can always contact guys that are parting out skis in the classifieds.
