    83: GT28RS at 16 psi
    84: GT2871R at 17 psi

Reliability and Turbo can't be put in the same sentence.

The same can be said about our SC's too. But yea, if you're going turbo you better know what you're doing.

That's a fair statement. Most of the turbo stuff isn't exactly mainstream, so the reliability isn't 100%. If Riva does a Stage IV turbo setup, it'll probably be good, though.

I can say, though, that 4 out of the 5 problems I've had would have happened whether I was SC or turbo. I do think that engine compartment heat will eventually lead to other issues.

    turbo or sc

i was always a fan of sc but not anymore. once the heat is under controll the turbo will be as or even more reliable depending on how far you go. the seadoo sc clutch system is a poor design and prone to failures.

If the turbo kit is properly setup then why would there be problems long term? Malvin's kit which Jerry sells seems to be a good kit same goes with Stickem's kit that Jerry used to sell. I think Malvin's kit is water jacketed so that should help with the heat issue.

Could you not go WOT for miles on end with a turbo kit? I know when I go to Havasu I ride for 20+ miles WOT and do not have any problems.

If its water jacketed and set up right you can ride for 20miles on end with out any issues.

Best part about you won t have to worry about the heat issue with a turbo..
