Footwear for racing
Just wondering what you racers wear when you race?
I am paranoid about foot and ankle injuries because I have done significant damage to these areas of my body in the past. I ended up getting myself a pair of motor cross boots to use when i race and was wondering if anyone else has tried this method of protection and if there is anything to be careful of like weight for instance...
all feed back welcome.

JetPilot Race boots and meyer ankle braces.
the only thing about mx boots is they get heavy.... if you are concerned about your shins, get some raceguards and you should be fine

Any hard soled boot is the best protection for foot traction on the mats for PWC's. Soft soled booties can still 'slip'.
Most of the (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment worn is done for comfort or style more than function and safety.
My fav's are OTB boots...I wear them in all conditions and have 5 styles I switch out depending upon the work detail. They have holes in the bottom, so they don't hold water and are very lightweight. The best boot I have trialed and I've tested them all.
