Yamaha FX Cruiser seat vs. Yamaha FX seat
I understand the seats are interchangeable..but looks to me like the
cruiser seat might be the more uncomfortable one as it holds you in more
and wouldn't allow you to slide at all. Anyone who's driven one have an
opinion on these seats..???....ok..thank you....

I have a SHO Cruiser and I don't find the seat to my liking.
Previous ski's I've had I could slide around, but with this Cruiser seat you can't.
For me it's all wrong. It does hold you in place as such, and is okay just cruising around or with a passenger-----but if you want to press on hard on your own----afraid not.
But I'm too mean, LOL to buy a 'standard' seat for it as they are well over $1000.00 here, and besides don't match in colour, so there's more outlay to cover it to my liking.

I'm 6'2" and the cruiser seat has taken a lot of getting used to. On long rides where you want to move around a little it's a hindrance, but the padding seems a bit softer and the backrest does provide some lower back support. I've used both on my ski, and there are pros and cons to each of them.

I had both sets. I sold the cruiser front and kept the cruiser back.
So I have a choice for the back.

I've ridden with all two but i prefer the regular seat because with it you can ride in a more aggressive positions as with the cruiser your kinda stuck in front of the back rest

I hav also ridden with all 2 basically if you gonna be doing a lot of carving & want to lean in turns get the regular seat but if you just like cruising & goin in a straight line that cruiser seat is really comfortable.

I'm waiting to find a second hand seat from a wrecked or blown up SHO being parted out. There's no way I'm paying $1600 for a new one...that's a lot of go fast mods. If any show up on the board, I have a feeling we're going to need to act fast with the # of people looking for them. BTW, with an $800 replacement cost, make sure to do something to secure the rear seat if you go wave jumping. A few weeks back Rip's came off, and he didn't notice till he found it floating in the surf.

Check ebay, I've seen a few on there before. I have a FX HO and have often thought about buying a rear Cruiser seat for the 3rd passenger, they've been between $100-200 on ebay
