    900ZXI build

I bought this ski last winter with several other skis I was going to part out. I neglected to check the compression and later when putting in the water realized I had a dead cylinder. So now the motor is out of the hull and being rebuilt. The paint job and fiberglass work on the hull is very recent. I traded a guy a nice single trailer I had for the prep and paint work. Not the best paint job in the world but def better than it looked before. I also repainted all the plastic parts with Krylon Fusion paint. Really makes the ski look nice. And of course as you can see the seat has been recovered. Today I detailed out and deep cleaned the inside of the hull. She is clean enough to eat cereal out of... hahaha More pics and details tomorrow.

Also as you can see I altered the Factory paint scheme. I saw a super nice looking Wet Jet recently with a green underside and thought it looked cool. Im thinking about pulling the ride plate and having it powder coated. Im hoping to have the motor back in next week and the new Hydro Turf installed. (Purple Marble molded diamond pattern) Should look bitchin!!! I will take some closeups of the new graphics. They are Carbon Fiber pattern and really look cool.

Your best band for the buck is an extended nozzle. You have to make it but it's not that bad and will totally change the ride.

Yepper, I already have a aftermarket ride plate, intake scoop grate, and of course I am doing some custom machining to the motor. Thinking about shaving the heads for higher compression. Maybe some porting and polishing work as well. Im thinking this along with the fact that it is a pretty decent size motor for as small as the hull is. this thing should fly...

    Before and After

Here are some before pics of this ski plus a pic of the handlebar pad cover I just had made. I must say this ski was way nasty before I cleaned it up and repaired the glass.

If you are not too far into the rebuild, You might consider converting her to an 1100. I am not sure what all would be involved but it seems like it would be pretty straight forward.

900 zxi's will do around 50 mph, 1100 zxi's will do closer to 60 mph.

Cool project so far! keep us posted.

To go with an 1100 you will need complete motor, e box and you would want the pump as well.

The nozzle changes how the jet pushes water. It basically make the ski longer. It will bounce less, accel faster, turn sharper and gain at least 1mph on top end. Some people made claims of 3mph with it but I think that is really pushing it. I'll find some more info for you. First see which nozzle you have, some zxi's came with a plastic nozzle and some with a metal one.
