Thread: Theft proof?

    Theft proof?

Now that i am investing so much into my gpr was thinking about installing a on / off power switch on the battery cable to turn off at the end of the day. Reason is we leave our skis float on the lake over night and as you know its not hard to get started without a lanyard. What do you guys do or do they already make something to replace the existing setup. Thanks

I mounted mine (i used a hella keyed switch from West Marine) right above the battery and I drilled through the battery box. all that sticks out is the snout for the key. Take a look below.

you can also mount a rocker switch (on/off switch made for things like accessory lighting n stuff) on the inside (just under the seat) that has the positive cable attached to it.

When I leave mine on the water at night I pull the spark plug boots off. That way it makes a lot of noise and won't start. It gives you time to load the gun and shoot the bastard

The easiest way to do it is to put an inline switch on the black wire coming from the flywheel cover which is the ground for the CDI or to put an inline switch on the water temp sensor at the end of the stinger pipe. Either one will prevent it from starting, The last one will set off the anoying alarm.
