    Need Some Help

What would cause this much buildup after only 2 hours of riding? This cat looked brand new when i installed it the day before. Has the oil injection gone ungodly rich or something?? I am experiencing a speed loss of 5+ MPH and max RPM's are between 6500-6600. My normal rpms have been between 7030 and 7120 depending on the weather. Also, just in case it matters the 5200 in the pump blew out and te pump is no longer sealed properly(in the process of sealing it the correct way).
The descriptions in the pictures pretty much explain everything.
Also, while i was out someone also made a comment stating that it looked like the smoke was coming out thick? Too much oil??

Why not just dump the cat? The slight speed increase a cat offers is just not worth the extra heat or potential problems.

Are you saying that you had an RPM and speed loss before you added the new cat con and there was no change after you added the new cat con?

The oil may be a symptom, not the problem. Your fuel may not be burned completely.

Can you account for all of your old Cat con? If not some of it may still be lodged in your exhaust system (water box) restricting your exhaust flow creating backpressure problems. This could account for the unburned fuel and the oily cat con. Do you smell lots of unburned fuel when you idle?

Jay- My parts just came in i just have to pick them up. I got a Riva d-plate, efi, chip and i had the head milled.

Pistonwash- That is one of the first things i though about when i started to study it. I thought it was very interesting.

    That is correct.

The original cat is in one piece, there are no chunks missing. The other side still looks clean.

I didn't smell any unburned fuel.
I did however notice that i burned through my last tank of oil a lot faster than usual. A tank usually lasts me 3 or 4 weekends sometimes more. This last tank only lasted me about two weekends.
When i go out i usually ride only one day and i go through an average of 15 sometimes 20 gallons of fuel.

if your pump seal is blown, thats probably and most likely your speed loss. Reseal it and you probably gain your speed back. RPM loss of that much might be your valves, I am mostly a seadoo guy, but when one of the valves fail you tend to lose 200 rpms. I know in your post you said you lost somewhere around 500 rpms, so that may not be your problem.
