    Drain plug assembly

I'm replacing the two rear drain plugs on my 96 GSX. What can I use on the rubber gasket for lubrication and the screws, if any? Thanks

If you're talking about the gasket between the plug & the hull, and not the o-ring on the cap, I use silicone sealant on both sides of the gasket to be sure there are no water leaks. Screws too. If you put something like Superlube on the gasket, it will want to squish out.

Right Stuff will work fine also. Don't lube the screws.

I would change them over to the 07 RXP drain plugs. They require a slightly larger hole but they remove almost all water from the hull while riding as they suck water from the very rear of the ski. They are the very best in the surf.I have them on all my skis.

Ziggy, you got a pic of that you can post up? Or are the drain plugs like the ones off the DI skis?

I saw pix on this forum a while back, but a quick search failed to find them. They are different from the DI plugs.
