Anyone taken the ASE's?
I just took the A1 last thursday, did about 12 practice tests studied my ass off and still walked out of the place not very confident.
Anyone taken them all? I heard the Auto trans and the A1 are the worse.

Yes, Master Auto Tech in 1990, Master Truck in 1991. Recertified a few times. Most recently 3 years ago, truck only. Got the L-1 or what ever the advanced was when it came out 95 or so, never recert. To be honest, the questions have not changed much in that time. If you know how the systems all work and know what would cause the symptoms they are no problem.

The questions that are specific are no problem its mainly the Tech A Tech B questions that get me along with there wording "could" and "May cause" to be its all bullshit cause most of the time it "Could" be both.

Only use the info they give you. Don't try to make an answer correct. Some may seem it could be both and some are, but not a lot of them. Just work with what they give you, they're not trick questions. Hope you did well.

Recertified Master Auto, L1, Auto Service Consultant, and expired HD Truck Master. The trick is not reading too much into the question. I had to take the L1 3 times to pass it because of the stupid composite car questions. Auto trans was not so bad, but I had just graduated from Tech school when I took the regular test. Air conditioning was a little tricky too.

Yes, been years....I got Certified in the ASE (P2) in 1992 and got my MACS CFC-12 in 1993.
Not sure how much it has changed since then.
LOL, I actually used my CFC-12 for a friend recently that wanted to keep R-12, we bought Freeze-12, in his ole skool 1992 Lexus on a car he bought his teen kid. Until then, I have not pulled that card out my wallet in yeeears
