    speed coat ??

Has anyone tried the epoxy speed coat? It's made by Interlux it's called VC Permance epoxy with teflon. Does it help or will it hirt my top speed.
Also when trueing the hull do you sand it flat or fill it in. If I should fill it in can marinetex be used. Thank for any info

if its not real bad (wavey) under the hull then you can sand completely flat, but you don't want to go too far (this would be a lot easier and could be done on the trailer with you on your back--if you don't have to fill anything in). Crashed boats or boats with previous major repairs would have to be filled in because in some cases (like mine) the current low spot is already too far too low (fibers showing). Just sanding completely flat is perfect for brand new boats or boats that have never had any major "hits" to the bottom----Just my .02 ---others may feel differently on this.

not too sure on the speed coat---where have you seen this?? Or do you have any info on it (about how it works).???

I'm trueing my hull now and so I think I'm going to try it. It's white so it should cover the sanding nicely. the epoxy is sandable too.

Nicolas Rius used Lubirzol A a couple years ago on his ski - I don't know if he is still using it
