The Yamaha hull is SMC. That looks ugly. I'd try Marine Tex, after doing a tunnel re-enforcement. Anyone have a better idea?

so i guess the ride plate and the jet works was not the issue. You are lucky that pump shoe did not ripe out . Same thing happened to a friend of mine and ended up in the hospital and sunk his ski.

Ah, painful memories. I used Marine Tex and so far so good. I also used a dremel tool to clean up and prepare the area.

I never thought the ride plate was the issue it is very fine work and if everyone else here has had good results it must be a good product. I had to poke around in all dirctions as i was lost....after i fix this mess we will see if i found my lost speed. I am very happy with the ride plate and the jet works....this stuff can get very frustraiting.....so, jim, what happened to you friend who wound up in the hospital???

dont forget to put that 3/8 line and valve on the jet mod. Make sure you seal the pump shoe well. He had broke some ribs and leg ended up getting a new ski and got a settlement from yamaha.

I'm sure there is "worse" out there......but that is theeeee worst I've seen. My first guess as to the source of the "cause" of this since it appears to be just around the bolt bosses.........looks like an "overtightening" or "too loose" assembly around those pump shoe bolts.
Factory error or re-install error........either one........what a mess. Count your blessings that didn't come completely loose from the hull at WOT.

glad the problem has been found. I would do several layers of Marine-Tex in several different stages, but that looks really bad ---almost to the point of having to get a boat shop to fix it with something stronger than M-Tex.
gosh - i wish i had a def answer on those holes.
