    I had a siezure today

my 97 GP 12 the front two cylinders siezed. Both had an area about an inch long broke off the piston by the exhaust port. The front piston was heavily scored 360* around the piston. The middle piston was only score by the piston pin. The center spark plug had half the electrode burned off as well. The rear was flawless. I only have about an hour on the setup. pisser water never got hot. Ran very well until the last five mins. Also worth noting that the two cylinders that had issues seemed to have had the sleeves slide down into the casting. Was flat during assembly, but now it would catch your fingernail. WHY????

well the 2 o-rings were cut from the sharp edge from the sleeves slid down into the casting. So i guess it might have been able to get in from the water jacket. maybe??

Only an hour on the setup and top of piston at exhaust port broke off ,It sounds like ring was catching exhaust port . Were the exhaust ports chamfered ?

    Were the cylinders just resleeved.
If you need cylinders I have a bunch of sets that need a little work.

I would try and get your money back from whoever bored those cylinders.

People who sell cylinders that you dont know always seem to lie about what they have.

Was burned on the last few sets I bought and was unable to get a reffund.

Stroke the dime and samyatuka in guam screwed me over.

the bores look fine. the deck however is not, The deck was at the time of installation. Now the sleeves have very clearly fallen in the bore probably .5mm.
