    Yamaha Stress Test

I had a mechanic tell me the other day that the vx models have been stress tested by yamaha to perform to 2000 hours (which is where they stopped teh test at) without any serious issues, when properly maintained, oil, filters, regular mainteance stuff...

while i do know of a few that have close to those hours with no real issues, from friends, im just wondering if anyone knows this to be fact and true.. or is the mechanic off some.... anyone heard anything like that???

In 2007 John Moffatt set the World Record for continuous distance on a watercraft by riding his production Sea‑Doo GTX watercraft an amazing 11,525-miles in four months, a usage time frame equal to what would normally take an average owner 14 years to accumulate:

I posted the info to show how durable these new 4 strokes can be, actually Moffatt's first try at the 5,604 mile record was on a Yamaha. Apparently it broke down and had to be replaced, you can read about that here:

I just think it's a pretty cool story, especially since the guy never used a support crew, it's quite an achievement. What I'm curious about is exactly how many hours were on these skis, I didn't read all the articles so I'm not even sure it was reported---but it had to be a lot.
