    Removing skat prop

    Hey guys I just got a used skat pump, prop, and drive shaft and having trouble removing the prop to put in a different one. I have never taken one of these apart but right now I have the drive shaft tool on the drive shaft set up in a vice and the impeller tool in the front of the impreller and setting sequred on the bench and have tried turning pretty hard clock wise am I doing this correctly I am open to suggestion. Thanks

    You're gonna have to put some heat to it..use a torch and heat the nose downward on the prop towards the inner threads. It threads opposite of normal..it's righty = Loosey, Lefty = tighty.

    Take your time and use a cheater bar on a big adjustable wrench.

    Be careful on those Skat impeller tools they are soft and round off easy. Heat then steady pressure, heat again if necessary. Left hand thread so I always tell people to imagine the impeller is self tightening so turn the opposite way.

    WOW!!! Good job! I could never get mine off. I sent my whole pump to impros. Had to get it repitched too.

    My big adjustable wrench kept rounding the tool. So i went with the closed end on a combination wrench. Snapped 6 of them while using heat and wd-40. We will see how impros handles it.

    They tack weld a tool to it, then use a large cheater to remove.

    I like to use a BIG pipe wrench on the Skat removal
