Need advise on keel scratches and skegg damage.

A couple of weeks ago I took my ski on a weekend trip to Marco island. I had the ski ancored off shore of the beach, but I guess it drifted in a couple of times into the beach. Sand and shells. I did really notice to much in damage until today. There are scratches running the whole length of the keel and found one of my skeggs damaged. The sharp edge of the skegg has been flatted out and is now jagged. I can probably sand it back to a sharp edge, but what about all the keel scratches. Will they effect performance and top speed. they aren't deep. One or two spots got a little deep, but not to bad. what should I do.

OK. thanks buddy. I'll try it. The deepest scratches are at the front of the keel so I think it is out of the water while riding.

Scott did you use 400 on the ride plate or the keel area? Just finished fixing my ride plate and skeggs. finished the plate with 320. Thinking of going to 400.

Actually on the ride plate i used a rougher sanding material 180 to 100 scotchbrite pads. Ya have to sand it from time to time the tarnish or whatevr you call it grows back. You done any riding mike. I want to ride tomorrow afternoon.
