    Virage Tx Part Deaux

    we'll i figured if i was gonna ride it new years day i better get started on changing it over.spent about 6 hours on it prepping and swapping stuff out.pipes are out,pumps out,carb are off,reeds are out,oil injection is out,bonded coupler is off.solid coupler is on,new heavy tension petals are in.didn't realize just by measuring the offset of the driveshaft in the wear ring how far off the alignment was off,add 3 shims left front,1 shim right front,and 1 each on the rears,will get an alignment tool and double check but it'll be way closer than it was.this is actually the third time around clearancing the pipes.the left front corner motor mount has been ground down again for more clearance.the build is replacing 40mm keihin carbs with the 42mm ones in a previous build up,swapping light tension for heavy tension petals on stock cages,swapping a bonded coupler for a solid one,adding an adjust a thrust to the pump,and complete removal of the oil injection system.i'm ditching the coupler shroud as i can't access the grease fitting with it in place with the pipes.and i'm also looking into moving the extingisher into the unoccupied area under the rear seat access,i figure a weight transfer of around 10 pounds by removing the oil tank and relocating the ext.

    TOOLS

    alignment tool in hand,want to get the pipes back in over thanksgiving,then this sat tweak the other 7.0 for it and grind down the river grate for the pro.got some cool guys that work at the former polaris dealership.let me borrow one of their tools for a few days,no questions asked,can't wait to get back in the seat on this one

    Only kidding, that Virage is VERY surprizing...

    Doug I wish I coulda been there when you pulled out the tripples, I bet once you get it all back together you'll pull even higher numbers... do you know anything about pump stuffing on these skis? Not many have seen 68+ on a Virage I'm sure?


    I bet it'd easily turn 70 on some 46 carbs...

    porting baby,porting,this ski still has an untouched motor except domes.so if the pro is a little ball of hate whats the virage gonna be???

    progress

    got a lot done but still got some work to do,got the pro river grate angle milled and ready,pulled the pro pump and pulled the aat body and installed it on the virage pump,checked the pro alignment ,got the virage motor aligned and the complete pump setup back in.pto pipe is in.collection chamber is back in.center pipe is back in but not finished.reeds in,stuffers in,intake manifold on but not tightened.whew.took pics crazy but will be fri night before i put them up
