Are you having a problem with your Garmin Etex? Blue Line Well i have the fix.
I'd been using my ETrex Legend GPS for more than a year without any problems, and just as you all have described, it locks up where you have to remove the batteries to reset it, and it locks up again within 4-5 minutes or so.
Well you can do this. there is a free update on the garmin website to update to 3.9 or you can
Disable the WAAS on your unit. A new satellite was launched earlier this year and is causing a problem. This is why Garmin issued a new software update version 3.9.
Menu > Setup > System... scroll down to WAAS and disable it. This should get your unit working again but with less accuracy.
heres the link to download the update its free.
Update the software to version 3.9 and leave for about 20 minutes in open area (clear view of sky) so your unit can download the full almanac. This should permanently fix your problem. Once you finish upgrading, go back and enable the WAAS.
anyone local need help with this let me know.
