Riva Power Filter Dimensions
Does anyone know the dimensions of the Riva Power Filter for a GP1300R?

Riva GP1300R RY1312 dimension
The dimensions for the Riva GP1300R RY1312 are 3.75" inlet, 7.5" long, 5" total diameter.
For aftermarket, The Spectre filters commonly seen at Oreilly and autozone are similar and are 4" inlet, 5.5" long, 6" total diameter tapered down to 4.75". Some peeps use this on RXP's, I've seen a couple use them on the GP13R...with an adapter

I have seen some of the K&N and aftermarket filters, but all have the cotton filter layer between the screens. I know that is not good for our application.
I wonder if there is any way to burn or blow that cotton material out? It's crazy that the riva filter made by K&N is $90 plus shipping, when I can buy an almost identical K&N auto filter with the filter material for $40 at the auto parts store.
And the Spectre filter is cheap. It's only like $25 and its a nice filter.
Please keep the thoughts coming...

another thought is to install some sort of screen. Uhm....the main thing is you need a flame arrestor device. Now, as for flame arrestor, there are 3 screens already over each opening inside the airbox.

Everything Marine is more expensive!!!
I just removed the stock flame arrestors.
I was thinking of maybe looking for some SS screen mesh material to put over the opening of the airbox and clamp it into place??? Will not restrict flow, but will act as a flame arrestor and keep crap out of the motor. It makes sense to me, what does everybody else think???
