    Loctite Question

Hey guys, I have a quick question. I am about to winterize for the first time and I have Loctite 242. It says I need to use 243 on the bolts that hold the fuel rail on. I can't seem to find 243 in any of the stores around here. Would it be ok to use 242? If not, I will try a few other stores. Let me know. Thanks!!

I think they are virtually the same, both are blue. I just looked at loctite.com, the difference is 243 has improved oil resistance.

Loctite® 242® Threadlocker is a general purpose, removable threadlocker for fasteners between 1/4" and 3/4" (6 to 20 mm) diameters. Controlled lubricity for accurate clamp loads. Parts can be separated using hand tools.

Loctite® 243™ Threadlocker is a general purpose, medium strength threadlocker with improved oil tolerance. For fasteners between 1/4" and 3/4" (6 to 20 mm) diameters.

Learned something new today, did not even know there were any difference. Thought blue was blue and red was red.
