    Bangin the Limiter

Went out on the T_X today to get some GPS numbers on the R&D grate and filter I put on the ski but didn't fare so well. Air was 62 and water was 51. Full tank of gas and as soon as I had it warmed up I put the coals to it. I could only get 3/4 to 4/5 throttle before hitting 8200 . Best speed was 70.1 at about 8120-8150. Anymore throttle and presto bango, it would start hesitating and flashing between 8200 and 8000. LOL the filter caused me a moments panic cause it made so much noise I thought I had an intake leak.
Anyone have a good 13-23 or 15-22 for sale? Skoepp?

I think the 51* water and the filter had a little to do with it too.

Steven, your pics in the "watcon" post are great! My shop manual says stock impeller pitch = 14/25.
How close does your stock impeller look now with your tweeks?
Have most T-X guys found the 15/22r to be the best stage 1 impeller?

I'm sure..The conditions are perfect right now but I wouldn't change it to much because the heat will be back and you'll have to reverse everything you do now.. We had a group riding the St. Johns a couple of weekends ago and we all were fighting the same battle.. All the fast Doo's were nailing the limiter..

Glad you asked, my stocker was 12.5 / 21 - 21.5. No were close to claim.
I had the tail end bent to a 23 on all blades to stay off limiter.
But it was not efficent blade from 12.5 to 20 and then last 1.5 inch at 23 degrees is not very progressively pitched correct prop.

Yep. It's untouched but it needs a massage I'm thinking. Or just a whole new prop. It really bugged me that I couldn't get wot, ya know?

Your right Alex. The conditions are perfect but unfortunately I'm deploying around feb. and will probably miss the whole summer's riding. I would like to nail this thing down now. Don't want to go overseas with unfinished business. And it's getting colder too. I think everyone at the ramp thought I was insane. Had my helmet and everything.

    Info:
Seagoat i remeasured my R and D pro pitch 13/23.
It is a 13.5/22.5. That prop performed awesome and is why i dont want to touch it too use when warms up as was on limiter a little.
I acctually just put this prop in the RXP for test.

The 15/22 that is in ski now (ran 74.6mph at 8,080 rpm) measure out to a
    14.5/22.

Both props are a nice upgrade to your stock prop. I would say 2mph unless someone took your stock and re did it. I dont reccomend it as the stock prop seems to be softer to me and easy to bend.
