Flywheel removal - is it and engine or engine out job ?

Guys, before I start the task can you remove the flywheel on a GP1300r 2004 with the engine still in place. To me it looks like it may be possible if the exhaust is remove from the 1st manifold joint along with the power valve motor. Is this the case or is it an engine out jobby?

    Cheers

    Kevin

i just did mine 2 days ago. the only thing that needs to come out is the front part of the pipe, U shape, 4 pipe bolts, 4 pipe to head bolts, and the 2 screws that hold in the PV motor.

those flywheel cover bolts are a !!!PITA!!! to get off.

dentist mirror?? heck, I took the wife's mirror out of the bathroom. she was happy to see the greasy hand prints on it when she got it back.

Philip, I'm going to try to make it out there tomorrow morning. I hope i meet Shaun RXP out there. BTW, he GPS'd at 77 the other day, at least that is what I was told...
