    Reading reeds.

Why have one set of my reeds started to split while the other 2 have not
    #1 jug is the one.

Is there any way to epoxy it its a v force delta 2 reed looks great but spliting at a 45 deg angle at corners.

If I cant epoxy it where would I find reed petals for just 1 cage.

Yes I did but it was a couple of years back.
I wonder if I have had split reeds for 2 years.

What would this do to performance anything.

This applies to any 2-stroke with reed petals. motorcyles, boats, personal watercraft ect...

When your boat becomes hard to start or won't carburate cleanly at small throttle openings even after carb adjustments, you should begin to suspect your boat has a reed problem. When you pull out the reed cage, look at the outer corners of the reed petals. Usually, the first area to wear is the outer corners, which will chip or fray. Any chipping or fraying will keep the reed from sealing completely. Whenever you see any damage or wear to the reed edges, you must replace the reed petals. You want the reeds to seal completely.
They must seal for a reason. A cracked reed petal is like a fault line, it will evenltually spread and break off.

I have seen situations in the past where a primer kit is installed and not all three carbs get a squirt, only 1 or 2 carbs get a fitting, well, there is a possibility that cylinder(s) will get too much fuel from priming and backfire from unburned fuel and damage the reed petals.

You do not want to ingest a reed petal. Not good. Inspect them all and replace them since it is apart.
