You going with standard bars or fat bars? fat bars require different mounting pads. The rubber plug stays as is no changes necessary. You will have to drill a hole in the new bars for the trim piece. Search there are several threads on grips and handle bar options.

guys swapping stock bars for after market sounds way harder then it really is and after markets are so much nicer to ride with.

its def a mod worth doing for anyone serious about their riding.

i am running pro tapers with UMI steering and UMI throttle, i love it.,

+1, I also have Pro tapers & UMI throttle and love em.

    I followed Abbott's instructios...here's the short version:
    • grind left end of bar to accept trim assembly
    • drill a hole through the bars for trim bolt
    • grind down the little plastic nub inside the on/off switch so it will fit on the fatter bars
    • drink beer and admire your work
I have read stories of guys taking some nasty hits from am bars while wave jumping, so a helmet might be a good idea if you plan on going for big air.
