    2005 RXT Troubles

Hello to all! I am new to the forum but long time ski owner. My name is Francis and live in the Orlando, FL area.

I have a 2005 RXT that I have used for the past season. Everything ran fine up until the end of the season. The problem that is occurring is that when you get on the gas the engine revs up but the engine is not spitting water out to propel the ski. And when it does not do that, it moderately shoots water out to propel the ski but it cannot hit the speeds it hit before. While the ski is moderately working the high temperature alert comes on. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it? Anyone heard of this happening before to anyone? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hope everyone has a great holiday season.

    Welcome to Greenhulk Francis!!!!

I would pull off your pump and inspect that area along with your driveshaft..You could have sucked something up like a plastic bag, rope or some other kind of debris..You may also be blocking the water intake in the pump thats why you may be getting a high temp warning..

Welcome to the Forum! Check your wear ring. It is the plastic ring in your pump that is around the impeller. A damaged wear ring could be the cause of your high revs with low throttle situation. Make sure to swap out those ceramic supercharger washers before it's too late too.

Welcome to Greenhulk. What speeds can you hit now? Sounds like something got sucked up in the pump. That kind of horsepower can do damage if you are not careful. Make sure there is nothing stuck in the impeller.

What speeds and rpm's are you turning? Knowing the rpm's really helps diagnose problems.
