    rave valves

    cleaned my Rave valves, do I need to get new gaskets or are the old ones OK?

    As long as they aren't brittle or cracked, you can reuse them.

    You can do two things to them, grease the old ones or copper coat them. I grease them during the first two times, after that, I wipe whatever grease I got on them off, then copper coat seal them.

    Thanks for the responces. the very center part of the gasket ripped when I pulled the valve out. I have never done this before so I don't know if I pulled them out wrong. the outside of the gasket looks good and is still stuck to the motor side. Do i need new ones or is this ok?

    get new ones, they're cheap. i always keep a couple of spares on hand.

    The next time you remove the RAVES break the gasket loose off the cylinders before lifting the RAVES out. Then the blades won't break the gaskets.

    i put new gaskets on every shot and o rings
