    Premix Ratio or Oil Injection

    Guys have to questions for my GSX LTD 951 motor

    Keep in my i only do wave jumping with the ski never goes WOT really if it does it my be for 30sec that s it only gets used in the surf for free riding and if wifes cruises around sometimes.

    1. Is there any drama leaving the oil injection on is it safe do they fail or get air locks or what ever.

    2. If i was to going to go premix using Amsoil Intercepter what ratio would i use 40:1 or 50:1.

    At the moment i have the oil injection so easy and i don t use much oil.

    You are fine with the oil injection.
    If your going to mix, 3.5 oz to 4 oz of oil per gallon of fuel.

    Always use the specific oil manufacturer's recommended ratio. They know their oil, and have tested at what they recommend.

    Your oil injection is fine, no worries on air bubbles or such. I would change the oil filter every couple years though.

    I went to all the premixing right off the get go when I first got into jetskis. Everyone was telling me to do so cause the oil pumps failed. Then I bought a 97xp and left the oil injection on it and wish I had done that from day one. I run oil injection on both my gprs and one of them is ported. The only way to mess that pump up is doing something stupid. I double ziptie my oil lines as well.

    I went through the same thing. Mixing gets old if you don't need to!! Once i put my twin pipes on my XPL i think i need to mix? The oil tank has to go right?

    only seen 2 failures in the shop in 5 years. One was a Yamaha 800PV motor it shook so bad the ear broke on the pump and it fell off. The other I caused by kinking the oil hose from the tank. Just check the oil lines from time to time and change filters. Also dont get water in the oil tank it goes right to the filter and wont let oil past.

    Twin Pipes = Premix, unless you can fanagle some way to make it work.

    keep an eye on your oil lines if you keep the injection. They dont call the SD 951 the grenade for nothing.

    I was running about 60mph on my old RD350 street bike when the injector failed. It was scary and ugly!! PREMIX never fails
