10 Hour Break-In Service by Dealer on RXP

Went to the dealer today to have the instrument panel changed to MPH and while there asked how much was the 10-hour service. THEY TOLD ME ABOUT $220 I almost lost it!! I asked the service tech what was involved and gave me this loooong story about how they change the oil and do all these other stuff that sounded like bla bla bla

I left it at that. Spoke to the mechanic and asked him and he basically told me that all they do is change the oil and check to make sure the everything is in ok.

I plan on doing it myself, unless there's something I'm missing.

Save the money and do your own checkup. Back in 97 took my 1200 in for the 10 hour checkup and when I got it back it ran worse. Had to go back two more times before they got it running like it was when I originally took it in.
    $220 what A SCAM!!!!

This is on an RXP! I still can't believe it.

I'm going to post on the 4-tec side to see if I'm missing something.

Wait till you add up the services to get to 100 hrs. You must do if you want your warranty.

Add about two hundred more for wear rings doing labor yourself.

It costs lots to go fast. Even stock.

What do you mean???? Never heard of having to go to a dealership in order to keep your warranty.

Warranty is to protect you in case of mechanical material failure due to part failure, not giving the dealer hard earned money for them to scratch their ass.

Rafi, you can still do your own maintenance and keep your warranty.
