    Ouch.....Wave-Jumping in Eel-Infested Shallow Water

Caught big air on a great wave yesterday.....submerged my SHO vertically from the back to the handlebars!! I was all excited!!....high-five!!.....great jump!!.....but wait.....no reverse!!!

Asked my buddy Chris to check my reverse bucket and he told me that I had no reverse bucket.....

    Check it....

Guess I underestimated the amount of air my SHO gets and the consequent depth of the vert.bobber landing...
I'm guessing the water was 7-8ft...thought it was deeper but couldnt tell cuz everything was so churned up................

Hindsight tells me i should have throttled on the landing and decreased my trim a click....oh well.....holding off on taking it ti Riva cuz i wanted to tackle this myself...but i don't know...its pretty ugly in there.....couldn't believe the plastic bucket was that strong that the brackets broke b4 the bucket did....

The little reverse lever was bent also....not sure if i can bend it back or maybe just buy another one? It's not like its the steering rod......

It also caused a big dimple in the rear pumptunnel of the ski....grrrrrrrrrrrr

Maybe i should take it to Riva??

If you want some help with it you can bring it up to my house and we'll get the brackets and bucket replaced. Once thats done you can bring it to Riva and see if you can convince them to repair the tunnel under warranty. Just leave out the part about jumping a wave and ripping the bucket off.

    Just checked the parts:

    Bracket(one side only) $40
    Bucket $29
    Hardware ~$5
    Eels priceless

If I'd known the buckets were that cheap I would've carved mine up like Andy's months ago.

+1........I think that i will purchase 2....the dremeled 'speed' bucket and then the regular riding bucket......

Hey we can have a 'bucket-cutting' tailgate party....Eric...u can come too....ur party starts after i pull my foot out of ur ass from laughing at me...

I'll give u a call Mark and see whats good for u.....salute bro.....aprreciated....hey...maybe i should take this time to pull my prop out and get it repitched since im bouncing all over the limiter......then we can go smackdown some Ultras in the club......not mentioning any names pbj/tom/renae
