    Flow Hood

    Hi guys

How good is RIVA's RXP High Flow Hood Kit?

I am running their 3" front air on my 07RXP stage2, and planning a custom 4" front set-up soon

The 3" air kit proved very efficient in my hot tropical climate (+250 rpm)

    > Will this hood be a valuable addition?
(What kind of RPM gain can I expect for the 300$ it costs?)

    > Is it 100% suitable for ocean riding?
(I am running a wide mesh ss filter without pre-filter on, so I dont want to take any chance with salt water ingestion)

BTW, is it installed by removing only small top bucket, or both small & large compartment buckets?

    Thanks for your feedback

    Cheers

Actually, they just received some more to put into stock.
They come in primer and must be painted to match by the purchaser.

I will get these added to the online store today.

It does what is says, vents air to hull.

I am running their 3" front air on my 07RXP stage2, and planning a custom 4" front set-up soon

I dont think you will see much difference in rpm gain but will help eliminate head fade and heat in hull. So you could keep from loosing rpm.

Should be fine as vents are facing backwards so only way to ingest water is to submerge front end completely.

BTW, is it installed by removing only small top bucket, or both small & large compartment buckets?

You remove the black bucket but front white bucket has to be kept in so hood will shut tight. You cut hole in white bucket for hose to go thru.

    Thanks for your feedback

    Cheers
If you use this mod, i would reccomend to also run some flow rites in seat cowling so that there is air movement in and out of hull. Just my opinion.
I run have run the riva high flow hood and a custom front cover with riva hose. I have riva rear air so i am just using mine to vent heat in hull.

Yo Alex, good to hear from you!
almost didnt recognize you with your new avatar...

I 've been busy all month installing the parts i bought from Jerry
There was fear & loathing at first, lots of swearing, considering i had never even looked under the hood of a ski before
but with a crash-course on GH, i got it all right

My arms are covered with cuts, i cant get rid of the oil smell, i m still spitting fiber and silicon dust, but it s done! and she s running wild

Never thought i could feel that kind of love for a machine, but i just can get enough of her... been riding 2h a day instead of 2h a week before the mods

You were right about the OPAS, she s a whole different affair without,
I got seriously punished the 1rst time i forgot that...
I think i m gonna stay with the greenwheel for a couple o month, to build up my skills, then upgrade to a full stage 3

Thanks again for all your advice
    Cheers mate!

You are welcome anytime! but try to make it sooner than later,
I may have to move to Australia by end of next year.
Dont be impressed by the recent head-lines, the events were not that bad, despite a couple unfortunate deaths, and limited to areas in government district.
Most people in the country have seen it only on tv, there was no action at all in & around my area.
For now, it s back to business, the Thais are working hard to move on and restore the image of the country
This tourist season is lost, so the airlines/hotels are starting to give huge discounts, check for some great bargains on the net.
Hope to see you soon, I ll have my ski up to you standards by then
    Cheers

the political situation is well appeased now, everything seems back to normal,
