What is the trick to the IC block off plate???

It seems to build pressure behind the plate and it will not go in what gives??

    Any suggestions?

What did you use for an O-ring on the block off plate? The '05 RXP/RXT stock intercooler has a flat rubber "band" instead of an O-ring. I had to cut one of these bands and fabricate a rubber seal for my block off plate. To be safe, I used some silicone for a good seal and let it dry over night before starting the engine.

Looks like I need an O ring?
I am going to cut mine down as well.

I went to a farm implement store and bought 4 different O-rings that fit the groove of the block-off plate. None were thin enough to allow the plate to be installed. When I cut the flat band I made it just wide enough to have a snug fit in the groove and it included a plortion of the raised rubber to give it a slight resistance when you install the plate. Hope this made sense... kind of hard to explain verbally. Then put a bead of silicone around the flange of the aluminum plate, install, let dry, and let 'er rip.

    You'll love the IC

The the RR blockoff plate comes with an O-ring with it . I remember putting on a thin layer o fmarine grease to it. The trick is to place the palm of your handagainst the edges of it and work it in. Yeah, its tight and yeah you want it to be. Call RIVA tomorrow tomorrow to verify this as they might have missed a part for you.

Also, I read that your installing the RR intercooler. I would just like to suggest that you go out to a Marine store and get a piece of 3/4 high pressure hose instead of using the stock short tube ( with the flanged ends). I have personally had that stock hose come off.

with the new hose , thinly place flange sealant around the brass IC fittings, slide your hose on, double C-clamp at the IC, and then use thin stainless wire ( also at marine store) to wire the c-clamps to the brass fittings.

OK, sounds a little paranoid..but you just invested big $$$ in this mod. Experience with a mishap tells me that if that water IN hose comes off
and your off shore...your looking at a possible blown muffler or a hydrolocked ski as water will be coming in. Yeah, i'm paraniod now

Riva doesnt sell rotax racing parts. RR doesnt ship O rings with their blockoff. They expect you to reuse one of the O rings off of your stock intercooler.

I used a piece of the hose cut from the pump to go to the manifold.
I did not like the setup either.
I got it all togather almost I am going now to put antifreeze/watte wetter in and go tho the lake.

I will post some results later.

BTW the new off shore bracket fits nicely and seems to hold pretty well.
